Math Advancement via a Summer School Class

Some students who want to accelerate in math take a class over the summer. If you are taking a math class over the summer at another institution, you must complete the Request for Math Advancement via a Summer Class(This class will NOT be placed on your FHS transcript.) It is important to note you will be required to provide a transcript from the summer school to colleges when you apply.

Algebra 1 and Geometry Requirements for UC

Algebra I and Geometry are foundational math courses. Without a solid grounding in both courses, students will struggle in all higher level math courses. Further, the University of California system requires Geometry in order for a student to even be eligible to apply to a UC.

2018-2019 School Year

Information regarding the 2018-2019 School year will be updated in January 2018.

What is the program?

Camp Common Ground is a 4 day summer enrichment program delivered in partnership with Fremont High School to lay the foundation for a successful transition to the new campus and the new level of learning and expectations. The daytime program directly addresses the need to engage transitioning students by creating an early and effective shared space - the “common ground.” The program’s overarching goal is for incoming students to feel safe, connected, excited, and motivated to partake in the full range of educational and positive social opportunities offered in high school.

As a reminder the first day of school will be on Monday, August 14, 2017

Articulation with our middle school teachers

Each year the Social Studies, English, Math, and Science Departments of Fremont meet with teachers from our feeder middle schools. The academic transition from middle school to high school is discussed as teachers share strategies and curriculum so that students can be as prepared aspossible for the academic expectations of Fremont.
