Returning the Phoenix newspaper to its award-winning status was the goal of the teacher, David Ramos-Beban, and the Phoenix staff. The staff was inexperienced but the first year was successful.  This is not a surprising achievement under the guidance of “R-B” because of his enormous experience.

The Fremont Phoenix will:

• Call attention to accomplishments within the Fremont Community but not shy away from holding individuals and group accountable for their actions and decisions affecting the Fremont community
• Be accountable for our actions as a group and as individuals by being respectful, professional, and standing behind the accuracy and thoroughness of the information we provide
• Inform our readers of important events and situations
• Report news in an unbiased and professional manner
• Be the voice of the unheard
• Inform about governance (district, administration)
• Uncover the truth where it should be uncovered
• Raise awareness
• Explore issues that impact the Fremont community
• Entertain
