Behavior and Dress Expectations

This is our 93rd graduation! The graduation ceremony is a serious occasion put on by the school for the parents and close friends of the graduates. As such, it is a PRIVILEGE for seniors at Fremont to participate in the graduation ceremony. By laying out our expectations here, in advance, we hope to make participation in the ceremony easier for the graduates, promoting an overall positive and pleasant experience.

The rules for participating are not many, but they must all be adhered to strictly. Any violation of the rules will result in the offender being removed from the graduation ceremony, escorted from the field and picked up by a parent to go home.  Any senior who has failed to clear a delinquency or has committed a disciplinary infraction will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony.

Expectations for Graduation Practice: Students will be required to check-in prior to entering the field

Be on time. Arrive promptly at 9 a.m. on June 4, June 5 and June 6 at Diesner Field (football field). There will be no exceptions unless cleared prior to May 31 with Dean of Students Chris Moore.  Dress comfortable; wear sunscreen/hats, since the turf on the field can get HOT. SCHOOL RULES WILL BE ENFORCED DURING THESE PRACTICES. PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON CAMPUS UNLESS YOU HAVE A VALID FHS 2019 STUDENT PARKING PERMIT.

Frequently Asked Questions about Grad Night

Do I need to bring anything?

No. Everything is provided - transport, food, beverages, entertainment, supervision. In fact you are not allowed to bring anything. Any bags you bring will be checked before you board the bus. Any drinks will not be allowed. Sorry, not even water. Water will be provided.

Can I sit with my friends?

Yes. But you need to buy your tickets at close to the same time. There will be two to three buses open for seating at a time. Once you have been assigned to a bus you can not change your bus number. There will be no swapping with someone else to get on a different bus. This is a security issue. The grad night committee does not wish to lose any students, as your parents might get a little upset.

How do I get home?

The buses will return you to school, the Sunnyvale Saratoga car park. How you get home from there is your own responsibility.

Can I leave early?

No. Once you are at the party you will need to stay until the buses return you to school. But that does not mean that you need to "party" all night. There will be quiet, seating areas where you can chill and relax. There will be food and drinks. There are options for those of you who don't want to dance for four hours. We know. We wouldn't want to dance for four hours either.

Can I park overnight?

Unfortunately no, there will be no overnight parking on the FHS campus during Senior Grad Night.  Seniors must be dropped off by 10:00pm and picked up the next day at 4:30am.  Pick up and drop off will be located in front of the large gym.

Cap & Gown Orders

If you haven't purchased your cap & gown, bring $50 cash to the Cap & Gown Distribution Day, on May 24 at 3:15 p.m. in the cafeteria, and pick one up at that time.
